Artwork Guidelines

Your artwork should be supplied as a high resolution jpeg, tiff, pdf, psd or eps files, without crops or bleed, at 300 dpi.

I don’t have any graphics software what should I do?

We can print directly from most supplied hi-resolution formats, however, not everyone has a designer close at hand. We can offer a comrehensive person-to-person design service for a small additional cost. We will listen to your brief and produce a proof of how your banner will look, utilising any images, you wish to supply. (please remember that these need to be hi-resolution and NOT taket from a website!).

Basic design is £10. The £10 charge covers 1/2 hour of studio time, which is enough to cover most design requirements. Additional design time can be quoted upon request.

Scale

Files supplied will ideally be sent at 25% of finish size, ie. a 6 ft x 2ft banner (72 inch x 24 inch) should be produced as a 18 inch x 6 inch document. The files output resolution should be 300dpi, and presented in CMYK colour mode. No crops or bleeds are required.

For larger banners, the file may be supplied at anything down to 10% of finish size, though it should be noted that this will slightly deteriorate any picture / text sharpness accordingly.

Supported Artwork Formats:

JPG files should be saved, where possible with the minimum compression ratio applied, thus ensuring a larger file size ,but retaining maximum quality of the artwork for press.

PDF and EPS files should be supplied with all images in place, in CMYK colour mode, at a resolution of no less that 300dpi. All fonts should be converted to curves/ embedded in the file, ensuring no external font data is required when opening the file.

PSD files should be supplied at 300dpi, 25% of finish size with any text layers rasterized, ensuring no external font data is required to open the file.

PDF files generated in Corel Draw have been found to have problems with font embedding. Please convert all text to curves before PDF output.

TIFF

Software

Adobe Photoshop
We accept Photoshop .tif or high quality .jpeg files.
Please flatten all font layers.

Microsoft Word
We will accept rough layouts and text in Word for the studio to recreate the artwork in an appropriate graphics application.
We do not accept print quality artwork from Word as it gives very poor print results, embedded pictures and logos usually give exceptionally poor print quality.

Microsoft PowerPoint

Microsoft Publisher
